Both a Coroner’s investigation and police investigation have been launched into the death of a Honduran man who was killed after cocaine pellets ruptured inside him last Monday (1 October.) The man's death was only made public by the RCIPS Tuesday (9 October) after his autopsy results were released. According to the RCIPS the unnamed 44-year-old man was found dead at a residence in Prospect shortly before 10:00 p.m. last Monday. Police said the man had just returned to the island from Honduras and the post-mortem found that he had ingested a large number of cocaine pellets, some of which had ruptured. Police said further tests are pending to determine the man's official cause of death. The drugs that were recovered have an estimated street value of CI$25, 000.
