The Deputy Auditor General said on Tuesday (6 November) that it was too early to say how much of a difference it will make having the Ministry of Finance coordinating responses from across Government to Public Accounts Committee reports. Garnet Harrison said the Ministry's involvement was a "step in the right direction." "The Finance Ministry has been given responsibility for coordinating all the entities' responses to the PAC reports," Mr. Harrison said. He added: "so they're taking from every Ministry, Department, Organisation and coordinating and providing that in a Government minute back to the Public Accounts Committee." Mr. Harrison explained many of their reports concern more than one Ministry and this would help with cross-ministry coordination "for the greater good."
